I'm not sure if there are that many people out here who have heard about this watch brand even though Bernhard Lederer Universe or simply known as BLU has been around for ages. That said, BLU is still considered relatively young compared to other established watch houses like Jaeger-LeCoultre or Patek Philippe. Founded in 2000 with its own watchmaking atelier in Colombier, on Lake Neuchâtel in Switzerland, BLU SA is an integrated watchmaking manufacture specializing in exclusive haute horlogerie with a very significant difference. Never let the age number deter you from approaching this super chic and young watch house because its founder, Mr. Bernhard Lederer has been in the watchmaking world since forever. So, expect nothing less!
To think that BLU has only been around in just about a decade, and looking at how the young watch has successfully developed its own signature style is way beyond amazing. Though BLU has a wide range of fantastically dreamy watches, Tourbillon MT3 has been some sort of its flagship masterpiece.
What makes blu MT3 so special is the fact that it rotates on three separate axes. Two of the three axes are ingeniously mounted in a linear arrangement, maintaining the system on the same plane. Fitted with three normal revolution speeds, blu MT3 is a unique tourbillon indicating time hours, minutes and seconds. This is made possible thanks to the flying 12-hour tourbillon containing the flying one-hour tourbillon (formed into the shape of a minutes hand) along with its concentrically embedded half-flying one-minute tourbillon.
All this may sound a little too much to digest but those wonderfully innovative mechanical works are actually very visible to the naked eyes. Thanks to its skeleton structure *I love to describe the word skeleton here!* that makes everything, I mean EVERYTHING looks so transparent. There is something about the design of blu MT3 that is so 'less' and so 'more' which makes it so irresistible. I always complain about how high-end watches being so over the top(in terms of size, diamond embellishment and what not), and then there are ones that are too simple which make people(who have no money like me :) question its worthy. Blu MT3 on the other hand has successfully managed to blur the line between both categories.
There is something that is so grandeur about the three axes rotations and then there is something so modest about its transparent sides. Then again, who needs fancy watch face when you have all those exquisitely intricate mechanical details that can make you hallucinating. I don't own blu MT3, I mean not until I rob a bank ;p but trust me, just by looking at the video of the watch alone, you will definitely stare for more.
